VG Music Spotlight: “Battle Theme” – Lost Odyssey
![]()
“VG (Video Game) Music Spotlight” is a series of articles that will be covering songs that are very memorable and are still epic to this day. These songs can range from any video game on any video game platform ever created in the history of video games.
Lost Odyssey was one of those very underrated JRPGs that came out in this cycle of video game consoles. Actually, the best in my opinion. But that's besides the point. The music in this game is absolutely wonderful! Every song was used perfectly throughout the game to bring a sense of emotion out of the player and it worked extremely well. Of course the person behind all of this is none other than Nobuo Uematsu! Pretty much one of the most well known composers of the entire game industry behind most of the music score of the Final Fantasy series.
The Battle theme itself is nothing short of epic and really puts you in the mood to fight. The violin is so well-done and the drums added the much needed rush effect to the song. My favorite part starting at 0:47 where the song breaks down and emphasizes the violin sequence for almost an entire minute. The Battle theme isn't the best song in the game but its definitely the most mesmerizing.
Thanks to the internet and things like Youtube a user by the name of "ScaryMan" decided to make an extended version of it with an additional minute of orchestral brilliance.
Maybe one day we'll see a sequel.

Man you do really have some bad taste for music. This thing sounds like a generic tune for a chinese or korean drama like Jade Palace Lockheart and Prince Hour. *-*
You wanna talk about memorable music themes then at least mention the good stuff:

I actually don’t like any of the music that you linked
We all have different tastes in music and given that I don’t play or listen to Asian music that much I would never be able to make that type of connection
Also I think the closest thing that I like to the Chrono Trigger Theme is this:
